Spellbinding Wedding Cards

Hi everyone,

This week I have found some wedding cards that I made last year using my Grand Calibur, Spellbinders dies and Craft Robo templates. I was very inspired by the Create and Craft presenter, Sue Wilson, although I'm nowhere near her standard ha ha. Anyone thinking of buying or who already own the Grand Calibur and the spellbinders dies should check out Sue Wilson's blog for some lovely inspiration. Just type in PARTICRAFT in your search engine. Here are few pictures of my first attempts.

Encaustic Art

Hi everyone,

This week I wanted to show you another craft I really love and that is Encaustic Art. Encaustic Art is painting with an iron and wax blocks. You can't use your normal house hold iron, its best to have the correct iron to achieve the best looks. What I love about this art, is that you don't need to be an artist to achieve wonderful unique abstract paintings. for more information check out www.encausticart.com Below are a few picture's that I made into cards to help inspire you.

Starter set without the iron

A5 card
Everybody See's these picture's differently
you could have them landscape or portrait

A5 tent card
Again to me this looks like a mystical landscape,
although I never set out to paint a landscape
Even my boyfriend had a go, this was is first ever painting

Cards For The Men

Hi everyone,

This week Ive been making a couple of cards for the men in our life, as crafter's know making cards for men can be difficult. Using the The Big One cd from La Pashe, I found some great images for men's cards. I think this cd is brilliant because there are a wide range of images on it, from serious to humorous. Its also good for all occasions.  Here are some photo's to help inspire you.

Exploding Blossoms

Hi everyone,

This week I saw Hunkydory doing a demo for exploding blossoms cards. They looked really good so I thought I would try to make them myself. I had already designed two cards using the Debbi Moore, Shabby Chic Victorian Botanical cd rom and the La Pashe, The Big One cd rom. I decided to use them as inserts for my cards. I think they make a nice surprise when the recipient opens the card. I hope I helped to inspire you, just as Hunkydory inspired me. To find out more about the exploding flowers, why not visit Hunkydory's website.

Using one of the first cd roms I bought.  The cards below were made using the Especially For You, me to you cd rom by Docrafts. They are a bit plain but not too bad for first atempts. Thanks for looking and I hope I have helped to inspire you, especially if you want to get into cd rom crafting for the first time.

Get Well Soon

Hi everyone,

This week I have made a couple of get well cards, using Debbi Moore's Shabby Chic Butterflies and Flowers cd rom.
I have tried to make them a bit bright in the hope it cheers the recipient up. I have been really enjoying making 8 by 8 cards, but realised I hadn't got any envelopes to fit so I made a box, I think it makes the card a gift as well as looking more elegant and expensive. Here are some picture's below to help inspire you.

Happy Birthday Grandma

Hi everyone,

This week I have been busy making a Birthday card for my Grandma, I live over 70 miles away from her and I don't get to see her much. I had loads of ideas but narrowed it down to three. I used the Debbi Moore cd roms, Serif Craft Artist 2 and Cocopopart cutting templates to make them. Makes a change from Mulberry Wood Christmas cards I have been doing for the last couple of weeks ha ha. Here are the three cards I have made.

Christmas in Mulberry Wood

Hi everyone,

Well, as crafters know Christmas is just around the corner and we need to start our cards early.
This year I have decided to use Christmas in Mulberry Wood cd rom from Crafter's Companion. I think the images are beautiful and different from the traditional red and green colours we normally use. I used my craft robo to cut out the base card templates which I purchased from www.cocopopart.co.uk. I also used Serif Craft Artist Professional 2 to make the backing papers and resize images. Below is a couple of pictures of the cards I have made.

Craft Robo or Silhouette Cameo cutting templates

Hello everyone

This post is about the craft robo or the silhouette cameo electronic cutting machines. Most people buy these machines and only use them for a week. But I want to show you the brilliant potential these machines have for your cardmaking. I have found a brilliant website where you can purchase your cutting files from it is www.cocopopart.co.uk  In the next few weeks I will be adding cards to my blog, in most of my designs, I use cocopopart cutting files. Thanks for taking the time to read my post below is a few pictures of my work. Bye for now craftyem x

My first post - For you Blue

Hi everyone, my profile picture is my bullmastiff Blue, unfortunately he died in march 2011 he was only 7 years and 7 months old.  As you can imagine I was deeply upset, so I thought I would cross stitch his photo. Cross stitching the photo really helped with my grief, and I was so pleased with the result. I started cross stitching years ago now and that's what got me into cardmaking. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Finished cross stitch, I stiched it on 18 count aida, it has over 29000 stitches and it took about 6 weeks to complete.
I was very lucky to have my picture shown to Jane Greenoff on Create and Craft and she loved it, I was over the moon with my 15 minutes of fame.

Luckily Blue left me a beautiful son, Red, I don't know how I would have managed without him, He is about 8 weeks old in the picture but he is nearly 7 now!
